EP1 : Hindenburg on the Prowl....Again

Just over a month after SEBI's show cause notice to Hindenburg, the research firm made serious allegations against the regulatory body. The target: SEBI’s Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. The charges: Conflict of interest. Hindenburg’s indirect target, however, was still the Adani Group.

It’s been over a month since the Hindenburg report, but the accusations against the regulatory body and its chief Ms Madhabi Puri Buch just don’t seem to die down. Why are they after just one company? Insinuating involvement of a regulatory body points to another question. There are two concerns here: One how porous are our institutions to information hacks. And two: Are these attacks politically motivated? More importantly, how vulnerable is India to such attacks for outside its shores.
