Wayanad Landslide Tragedy

Published On: July 30, 2024 - Massive landslides have struck multiple hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala's Wayanad district, resulting in 12 deaths and leaving nearly 100 people trapped under debris. The landslides, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, caused significant damage, including the collapse of a bridge in Chooral Mala town, leaving around 450 families stranded. Rescue operations are underway with teams from the Fireforce, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the Kannur Defence Security Corps working on-site.
