TN's New Prohibition Laws: An Eyewash?

Published On: July 15, 2024 - The Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024 has come into force. The act, which comes into force in the aftermath of the Kallakurichi Hooch tragedy, proposes stringent laws with an objective to curb the sale of illicit liquor in the state. With jail term and fines increased for those selling illicit liquor, will the act prove potent enough or is it just an eyewash?
