Sugar Export Ban Extended, Rice Export Rules Relaxed

Published On: October 18, 2023 - The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has prolonged the restrictions on exporting sugar beyond October 31, 2023. The restrictions will continue to exist until further orders. However, export limitations on non-basmati white rice to some nations have been lifted. Countries now permitted to import this rice include Nepal, Cameroon, Malaysia, the Philippines, Seychelles, Ivory Coast, and the Republic of Guinea.
