Row Over Spiritual Sermon at a Govt School in TN

Published on: September 06, 2024 - A controversy erupted after a spiritual teacher, Mahavishnu delivered a spiritual sermon to students at a government school in Chennai. While he was invited to deliver a lecture on self-confidence, Mahavishnu started talking about ‘re-birth’, ‘sins’ and ‘karma’. This invited outrage from a school staffer, and soon both got into a verbal spat. Netizens criticised the school authorities for invited such a guest and called for action. The education minister A. Mahesh took note of the incident and transferred the school principal and also promised action against Mahavishnu.
