Published On: September 17, 2024 - The Manipur violence has continued since May 2023. That’s over a year old. Over 200 people have died and more than 60,000 persons have been displaced. But what differentiates this prolonged phase of unrest from all others is the ordnance being used. Over 2,000 assault rifles and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition are still missing. Adding to that is the new and worrying prospect of mobile artillery like home made drones dropping grenades and firing rockets into civilian areas. Manipur is on fire. Could it spread across India?
