A 15-year-old boy was lynched and killed by a mob inside a police station in Bangladesh. He was accused of blasphemy. Ever since the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5, minorities including Hindus have faced at least 205 incidents of attacks in 52 districts. In these attacks, at least 11 Hindus have been killed and 15 temples vandalised across the country. Several Hindu officials and academicians were forced to resign by agitating students and protesters over the last few weeks. Now, Muhammad Yunus, the head of Bangladesh’s interim government has said that the attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh are “more political than communal”, as Hindus have by and large supported the Awami League.
