IC814: Glorifying the Hijackers

Published On: September 02, 2024 - The OTT series IC814: The Kandahar Hijack has attracted controversy. The series is about the Indian Airlines flight 814, heading from Kathmandu to New Delhi, which was hijacked by the terrorists of the Harkat ul Jihad in 1999. The series is facing backlash for humanising the hijackers and depicting the Indian government as inept. Amid the outrage, the Information & Broadcasting Ministry has summoned Netflix India chief Monika Shergill.
