First Meeting of Kuki-Meitei-Naga MLAs Since May 2023 Violence Organised by MHA in Delhi

This will mark the first joint meeting of both Kuki and Meitei legislators since violence erupted in May 2023, representing a major step forward. Naga MLAs will also participate in the discussions, which the Ministry of Home Affairs is organizing under the direct supervision of Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting aims to address the ongoing crisis and restore peace in Manipur, as part of the Centre's efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two communities. Resolving the situation has been a top priority for the Modi government, as outlined in the government's 100-day action plan. Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasized that dialogue between the Kuki and Meitei groups is crucial for conflict resolution, and the upcoming meeting signifies progress in the Centre's mediation efforts.
