Published On: June 28, 2024 - Underpasses filled with water, long traffic jams, stagnant water everywhere. This what happens to India’s national capital each time there is rainfall. This time it is no different - 3 hours of rainfall on early on June 28th killed one and injured eight in Delhi. The roof of Delhi airport’s terminal 1 collapsed. Tens of thousands of office-goers were stranded on the road for hours. And these were just the pre-monsoon showers. No wonder the tax payer is angry. Why does Delhi have to deal with water-logging year after year? Why are the stormwater drains insufficient to channel away the water? Is there a solution ? To discuss this we have News9 Plus Editor Sandeep Unnithan, along with colleagues Kartik Malhotra and Nivriti Mohan, Prof. (Dr.) P.S.N. Rao, Dean, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi and KT Ravindran, Town Planner
