Biren Singh Says Vested Interests Trying to Sabotage Peace Efforts in Manipur

He pointed out that just a day after peace initiatives were launched in the Jiribam district, incidents of arson took place, indicating that some individuals were intent on perpetuating the conflict. Despite these challenges, Singh highlighted signs of progress. 'Recently, 133 people who had fled their homes in Jiribam have returned. We are working diligently to ensure that all those displaced can return to their homes,' he said. He also mentioned that the relocation of people was done after the May 3 violence as Govt's priority was to save the lives of people.
