52-Year-Old Woman Tests Positive For JN.1

Published On: December 28, 2023 - New Delhi reported its first case of JN.1 COVID-19 sub-variant on December 27. The patient is a 52-year-old woman. One out of three samples was JN.1, while two were Omicron. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old patient, who tested positive for Covid, died. However, Delhi government officials informed that Covid wasn't the primary cause of death. The deceased had multi-system inflammatory syndrome, and the Covid finding was incidental. The test sample has been sent for genome sequencing and a comprehensive report is awaited.
